Locating Methods

Key to the superior performance of GeoLENs systems is the ability to dynamically and seamlessly apply handset-based and network-based mobile location technologies, individually or in combination. The result is optimum performance that meets the requirements of the LBS applications being supported. The innovative design allows GeoLENs to work with the following individual and hybrid combinations of location methods:

  • A-GPS (Assisted GPS)
  • AOA (Angle of Arrival)
  • CID (Cell ID)
  • E-CID (Enhanced Cell ID)

  • MLDC (Mobile Location by Dynamic Clustering) 

  • Hybrid A-GPS/RTT
  • MREL  (Multiple Range Estimation Locator) *
  • NMR/MPL (Network Measurement Reporting/Measured Path Loss)
  • RTT (Round Trip Time)
  • TA (Timing Advance)
  • TA/NMR  (Timing Advance with Network Measurement Reporting)
  • O-TDOA/IPDL (Observed Time Difference of Arrival)
  • U-TDOA (Uplink Time Difference of Arrival)*   

* Requires deployment of Location Measurement Units (LMUs)
